      Super sweet

I've grown to using primarily the Naked flavor of Tailwind for ultra events and long (4+ hr) training rides the last few years so I was excited to try the high carb version. Most events I was starting with 75g of carbs in my bottles anyway so the 90 didn't seem a big jump.

#1 It'll keep you fueled—for a 200-mile race across Michigan I used only high carb for the first 7 hours and felt fresh the whole time

#2 I think it tastes sweeter and better than OG Naked (which makes sense) the only downside from that is any spillage (and the new recycled paper spoons are horrible for this) down the side of the bottle will cake your frame and hand and cockpit in a sticky mess. Having not used any high carb mix since 2018, I can't remember if they all do this but the Tailwind-supplied spoon does not help.

So far work great if you have gut sensitivities

Dialing in fueling for middle distance triathlon has been a sport all on its own. Especially when taking into account having an IBD and avoiding things that trigger colitis flares. So far tailwind High Carb has sat great in the stomach on the the bike and set me up to start off strong in the run. It's taken some dialing in to see what will work for me to hit the carbs I can handle and that get me through 50+ miles but I think we're finally there. It allows me to get the fuel and stay hydrated which was becoming a challenge when we thought all my carbs were going to need to come from solid sources after finding out my go to mix was triggering my gut. A mix of the flavors and the Naked provides a subtle flavor that goes down easy and sits just fine. We'll see how it does in my next race on Sunday 9/20.

      Better flavor and density

I've been using Endurance Fuel in a high concentration (500-700 calories/1l water), so I'm used to a denser fuel. What makes the High Carb mix better is how much lighter the taste is and the drink feels less heavy.

I only give 4 stars because it is harder to get the High Carb to dissolve at the same ratio as Endurance Fuel. My fix was to use a handheld milk frother.

      Great product

I used this last weekend on my long ride , and it worked well.

I like that I do not have to concentrate my bottles to get the amount of calories and carbs I need/use for long workouts.

I have been struggling with finding a new product that works for me.

I am looking forward to my century ride this weekend and to use this new product.

    FAQs

    • Carbohydrates = energy. When done properly, taking in 90+ grams of carbs per hour can deliver increased energy, reduce perceived exertion and lower markers of muscle damage so you can push harder, for longer.
